Abstract
This historical memoir recounts President Ho Chi Minh's visits to Bach Mai Hospital in 1954 and 1960, with particular emphasis on his visit to the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry. During these visits, he encouraged healthcare professionals to uphold medical ethics, provide compassionate patient care, and devote themselves to serving the people. The article also reviews the development of the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry and its separation into independent Neurology and Psychiatry specialties in 1969. It highlights the enduring influence of President Ho Chi Minh's teachings on generations of Vietnamese physicians in clinical practice, medical education, and the development of neurology in Vietnam.
