The author shares personal memories of his training, research, and the discovery of the “Nodding Great Toe Sign,” a neurological sign for pyramidal tract lesions that was subsequently published in an international medical journal. Through reflections on Dr. Nguyen Quoc Anh’s clinical expertise, teaching, and exemplary character, the article portrays him as a visionary educator and the founding pioneer of Vietnamese Neurology. Above all, it serves as a heartfelt tribute to a respected mentor whose knowledge, dedication, and inspiration shaped generations of Vietnamese neurologists.
