Abstract
Objective: to evaluate the results of cognitive rehabilitation in patients after stroke at Thai Nguyen National Hospital. Subjects: 30 stroke patients treated at Thai Nguyen National Hospital. Methods: Descriptive, intervention without a control. Results: The mean age of the patients was 65.2 ± 9.8; Broca's aphasia disorder accounts for 63.3%; The patient's ability to speak, understand, and write before and after the intervention showed much improvement compared to the time of admission (p<0.05); the patient's psychological state has improved significantly compared to the time of admission (p<0.05); The assessment scales at hospital admission and discharge showed good improvement, the average NIHSS score at admission was 15.8 ± 6.7, discharged from hospital 4.6 ± 3.1; The average MMSE score at admission was 11.8 ± 6.4, at discharge was 20.8 ± 5.1; The mean mRS score decreased from 3.7 ± 0.9 to 2.0 ± 0.9. Some factors affect the dementia status of patients after acute cerebral stroke: advanced age; Education level, dominant hemisphere damage affects many language and memory disorders. Conclusion: Timely cognitive rehabilitation intervention for patients after stroke will reduce the disability rate and increase the ability to reintegrate into the community for patients after stroke.
