Abstract
Objectives: Determining clinical and sub-clinical characteristics of ischemic stroke patients in Viet Duc University Hospital; assessing situation of applying clinical standards about stroke intervention in Vietnam. Subjects and method: A cross-sectional descriptive study conducted in 42 ischemic stroke patients. Results: The average age 61.76 ± 12.89. The ratio of male and female was 1.8/1. Symptoms of motor paralysis, face paralysis, language disorders, and disorder of consciousness were found in more than 50% of patients. Lipid metabolism disorder, glucose metabolism disorder, atherosclerosis were risk factors accounting for the highest percentage. 74.4% of patients had lesion on film belonging to regional supply blood of anterior circulation. 14/42 patients admitted to hospital within 12 hours of onset, 7 patients had indications with reperfusion intervention and 6 of them were successful. Quality standards including 1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9,10 for stroke care at the clinical level were fully implemented in the appropriate patients. Conclusions: The incidence of ischemic stroke increases with age, common in men more than in women. Risk factors for ischemic stroke have not been effectively controlled before hospital admission. 9/10 quality standards at the clinical level with implemented percentage are 100%.
