Abstract
The objective of the study was describing some factors related to treatment compliance in hypertensive patients at two communes of Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province. A descriptive study was conducted on 120 patients diagnosed with hypertension in Co Lung and Phan Me communes, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province from July 2018 to July 2019. The study results showed that the rate of patient with good, medium and poor treatment compliance was 13.4%; 28.5% and 58.3%, respectively. Patient income related to treatment compliance: Treatment compliance of patients with stable income sources is higher than patient with unstable income. Disease awareness is related to treatment compliance. Patients with good and medium awareness adhering to treatment better than who with poor awareness. Medication dispensing is related to patient adherence. Patients receiving reasonable drug dispensing have higher adherence than who receiving inappropriate drug dispensing. In conclusion, the rate of patients with good treatment compliance was low with 41.7%, 58.3% of patients was poor compliance. The good treatment compliance of hypertensive patients is related to good awareness of the disease, reasonable drug dispensing and stable income.
