The case scale in the assessment of severity, clinical course and outcome of autoimmune encephalitis

Abstract

In 2019, Lim and colleagues developed the CASE scale to assess severity, clinical course and outcome specifically for patients with autoimmune encephalitis. The scale includes 9 factors: seizures, memory disturbances, psychiatric symptoms, consciousness, language disorders, dyskinesia/dystrophy, abnormal gait and ataxia, dysfunction brainstem and weakness. Compared with the mRS scale that only assesses mobility and self-care, the CASE scale helps assess other symptoms in autoimmune encephalitis. Some studies have shown that the CASE scale is suitable for the whole assessment, can help choose the appropriate treatment method, estimate the severity and prognosis of the disease. This article provides a Vietnamese translation table made by Dr. Tran Dac Anh Quan, went through the steps of obtaining permission from the author, translating forward and backward.
