Abstract
Objectives: Evaluate results of home rehabilitation exercise in functional independence for post stroke patients at Thai Nguyen city. Methods: A controlled experimental study was conducted on 162 stroke patients. Results: In intervention group after 6 months, the percentage of patients with completed dependence decreased significantly from 55.6% to 33.3%. At the time of 1 year after the intervention, the proportion of patients with independence increased to 34.6%. The effectiveness of rehabilitation interventions in improving functional independence at the time of 6 months is 616,7%, after 1 year is 2783,3%. The effect in improving stroke-related neurologic deficit at the time of 6 months is 57,8% and 42,7% in 1 years. The effect in improving severe disability at the time of 6 months is 51,7% and 49,7% in 1 year. Conclusion: Home rehabilitation exercises are effective in improving the functional independence of daily living, stroke-related neurologic deficit, disability of patients after stroke.
