Bài viết tổng quan về hội chứng ổ khuyết, biểu hiện lâm sàng của nhồi máu não ổ khuyết do bệnh lý mạch máu não nhỏ. Nội dung trình bày lịch sử, dịch tễ học, cơ chế bệnh sinh, các yếu tố nguy cơ và năm hội chứng ổ khuyết kinh điển, đồng thời mô tả đặc điểm chẩn đoán hình ảnh bằng cắt lớp vi tính và cộng hưởng từ. Bài viết cũng cập nhật các nguyên tắc điều trị cấp, dự phòng tái phát và kiểm soát các yếu tố nguy cơ nhằm giảm tỷ lệ tái phát và cải thiện tiên lượng ở người bệnh đột quỵ não ổ khuyết.
