Sensory ganlionopathy

Abstract

Sensory ganglionopathy is rare, due to degeneration of the dorsal root ganglia and present with sensory ataxia, loss of tendon reflexes, and loss of sensation. Sensory ganglionopathy is often idiopathic. The disease may be related to paraneoplastic phenomenon, Sjögren's syndrome, chemotherapy, especially platinum drugs, vitamin B6 toxicity... The diagnosis is based on clinical, electromyography, and tests to find the cause. Some cases of sensory ganglia are treatable; therefore, it is essential to consider treatable causes early in an approach to diagnostic evaluation and appropriate treatment.
