Evaluation of the Efficacy of Repetitive Peripheral Magnetic Stimulation in the Treatment of Spinal Pain at Military Hospital 175

Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the rPMS protocol in treating patients in the Department of Neurology at Military Hospital 175 from May 2022 to June 2023 with chronic neck and back pain. Methods: 23 individuals in total received at least 5 sessions of rPMS. The Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) was evaluated before first session and after the last one. This study uses a prospective cross-sectional design. Result: In the before rPMS group, the average Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NPRS) test results were 6.2 ± 2.2, while in the post rPMS group, they were 3.2 ± 2.4. The findings demonstrate that peripheral magnetic stimulation has a positive effect on pain relief in chronic neck and back pain patients using the Numeric Pain Rating Scale (p < 0.001). Discussion: It is clear from the analysis of the research data above that recurrent peripheral magnetic stimulation helps patients with persistent neck and back pain feel better and have less pain.
